  • CANADA LEARNS THE HARD WAY DURING 2017 DHL INTERNATIONAL SURF RESCUE CHALLENGE IN NEW ZEALAND

    Last year’s DHL International Surf Rescue Challenged was held at Mount Maunganui, in Tauranga, New Zealand from November 30th to December 3rd. Among the Canadian delegates were Didier Dupas, as well as Claudine Courteau-Godmaire, both from the Province of Quebec. They were faced with conditions to which they were not used, as the waves and current changed many times during the same day.

  • THE CANADIAN TEAM PUSHES ITS OWN LIMITS IN EUROPE

    The Lifesaving Society sent a team of lifesaving sports athletes to Warendorf, in Germany, for the 2017 German cup, which took place on November 18 and 19. This same Canadian team then headed for Heindoven, in the Netherlands, for the 2017 Orange Cup which was held on December 2 and 3.

  • The first edition of the Canadian Drowning Prevention Plan

    In order to execute this plan, the Canadian Drowning Prevention Coalition has addressed the questions relative to the priority actions of drowning prevention that must be undertaken by Canada.

    The Quebec version of the 2017 Drowning Report was published last September, prepared for the Lifesaving Society by the Drowning Prevention Research Center Canada.
